Job Description

The Senior Director, Marketing, HBV will report directly to the Vice President, Sales & Marketing for the U.S. Anti-Viral business unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategically lead the marketing efforts and setting the long-term vision for the HBV Therapeutics franchise. The Senior Director will establish appropriate procedures, systems, metrics and infrastructures to support marketing operations. He/she will provide strong leadership skills with an ability to set a vision, to lead change, and to lead and mentor others. Responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:

  • Set the long-term vision for US HBV Marketing Franchise
  • Manage risk and P&L
  • Represents US HBV Marketing Franchise position on Review Committee
  • Achieving brand/franchise revenue targets
  • Oversee the development and implementation of tactical and strategic brand marketing plans across the franchise
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with thought leaders, key customers and professional organizations
  • Working in close conjunction with NA Marketing operations to establish appropriate procedures, systems, metrics and infrastructures
  • Collaborates with other Marketing Heads to ensure coordinated approach
  • Develop, coach and manage key functional staff

 

The successful candidate will be a dynamic, experienced individual with a strong track record of commercial success in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry. He/she must have the proven ability to provide strategic brand/franchise management, vision and direction within a fast moving, challenging and energetic commercial environment.

 

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 15+ years pharmaceutical industry experience including expertise in marketing strategy and tactics and commercial policies and practices
  • Knowledge and experience in franchise specific specialty markets
  • Proven record of leading product launch and brand/franchise growth
  • Experience with pharmaceutical regulatory requirements(DDMAC) and impact on development of marketing materials
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, focus, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures, and disciplines
  • Strategic capabilities with ability to conceive, develop and implement multidimensional marketing and business plans
  • Demonstrated excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects/priorities
  • Strong communication skills with experience presenting before executive staff
  • Track record of successful budget management with an understanding of revenue forecasting and expense budget planning and tracking
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams or work groups as well as direct reports
  • Sales/market research experience is preferable, though not required
  • BA/BS degree required with an MBA or advanced scientific degree desired
