Job Description

The Associate Director/Director Marketing Communications will oversee strategic planning, development and coordination of all marketing communication programs to further the company’s sales objectives. He/She will consult with other areas of management and sales department to develop strategies for leveraging web marketing, trade show activity and direct marketing. The successful candidate will work with marketing technology coordinator in managing sales aids, advertising, and public relations projects and recommends the best media suited to sell Althea’s CMO services or protein formulation technology. Additionally, this position will consult with other areas of management and VP of Sales & Marketing to develop a comprehensive PR strategy for Althea’s CMO services and protein formulation technology. The successful candidate will interact with vendors to produce promotional materia and will work with VP of Sales & Marketing to recommend resource allocations and investments across marketing in order to ensure continued growth for Althea’s services. The Associate Director/Director Marketing Communications will also work with the Marketing Coordinator to negotiate contract terms with outside agencies and suppliers.

He/She will participate in regional and national sales meetings and will communicate with outside advertising agencies on ongoing campaigns. Additionally, he/she will analyze marketing programs and adjust strategy to increase effectiveness. The successful candidate will work with the Marketing Coordinator to compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads based on information from corporate reports, professional directories, trade shows, Web sites, and other sources. He/She will stay current on developments within the industry and will attend tradeshows, amongst other duties as assigned by his supervisor.

 

Job Requirements

The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree with position relevant course material and a minimum of 4-7 years of progressively responsible marketing management experience preferably in the biotech field. The Associate Director/Director Marketing must have proven experience in the promotion of services in the biotech industry and management of the corresponding marketing/communication mix preferred. Previous experience with a contract manufacturing organization or contract research organization is also preferred. Additionally, the qualified candidate will have proven experience in developing a PR strategy preferably in the biotech filed. He/She must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and experience with Salesforce.com preferred. This position requires someone who is detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills. The qualified candidate will have a high aptitude to learn technical and scientific information. Familiarity with Website Maintenance Programs is a must.
